Qualifications and Requirements for Video Technicians

Qualifications:

Education: Associate degree or higher in Technical Theatre, Video Production, Film, A/V, or related fields preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience operating, designing, and maintaining video systems for theatre, touring, and live entertainment.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Green Hippo, Black Magic Video Hub, QSYS, QLAB, Adobe Creative Suite, and Final Cut Pro. Experience with D3 and content creation is highly desirable.
Attributes: Self-motivated, creative, and driven with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluent in English.

Key Responsibilities:

System Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain video systems including Green Hippo, Black Magic, QSYS, QLAB, and Purelink. Ensure proper maintenance of all associated video equipment.
Show Production: Produce and edit media content, including live capture and content delivery to the Broadcast Team. Maintain the integrity of production shows by aligning each video element with the original designs.
Content Creation: Use Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite to create and edit content for shipboard events and digital signage screens. Develop engaging content for live events in all venues.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Perform maintenance on LED walls, projectors, and video camera technology. Conduct daily inspections of video systems and take necessary actions for repair.
Collaboration and Communication: Work with the Senior Production Manager, Guest Entertainers, and Entertainment Director on production-related matters. Provide video assistance to other venues as directed by the Senior Production Manager.

Desired Attributes:

Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot signal and power distribution paths.
Physical Requirements: Capable of working at heights up to 55 feet and lifting over 75 pounds. Comfortable climbing and using hand tools.
Technical Knowledge: Experience with media servers, control and playback systems, 3D projection mapping, and blending/warping projectors. Knowledge of Barco units and projectors is valuable.
Additional Skills: Skills in lighting, audio, electronics, and time code systems are a plus. Willingness to tour year-round and travel internationally.
